Competition Diary 2011

 

Welcome to the North Kent Fly Dressers Guild Competition Diary for 2011.

This year we have a full diary of events which I hope you will all be able to support.

Domestic Shield

 

2011 Winner - Ralph Painter

 

 

The Domestic Shield was held at Bewl Water on Sunday 15th May. 18 Members fished with strong wind and shifting clouds making the fishing difficult, but we still managed a rod average of 3.00 which is a good result as the recent Bewl rod average was 2.03.

 

Congratulation's go to Ralph Painter who with a limit bag of 8 fish won the competition with a winning weight of 17lb 6oz

 

The heaviest combined bag weights was Ralph Painter and Trevor Bourne with 28lb 3oz

 

The heaviest fish of the day 3lb 13oz being caught by Stuart Hawkes

Chairmans Charity Day

 

 

2011 Winner - Trevor Bourne

 

The Chairmans Charity Day took place on Sunday 23rd October at Yew Tree Farm, East Sussex.

 

10 people attended the day with 4 Anglers catching the 4 fish limit, Trevor winning the event by 1.5oz with only 3.5oz seperating the top 4.

 

 

The day raised over £85 for Charity which Trevor will nominate

Sussex Charity Pairs

 

This Years Sussex Charity Pairs took place on Sunday 9th October at Bewl Water.

 

Sussex's Chris Nunn & Bill King won back the Sussex Charity Pairs Trophy for the Sussex branch, with £205 going to the St Peters & St James Hospice in Chaily

Chris & Bills nominated charity.

John Watts Trophy

 

 

This Years John Watts Trophy took place on Saturday 27th August at Grafham Water.

The John Watts Trophy is organised through the main Guild and is traditionally held on the last weekend in August at Grafham Water.

 

Saturday 27th August saw out intrepid team of four brave thunder, lightening, wind and heavy rain to fish the John Watt Trophy on Grafham Water.

 

The team, consisted of Trevor Bourne, Ray French, Ralph Painter and Bob Shaw. They overcome the conditions to finish a credible third behind London A and Ayr Travellers in a closely fished match.

 

Considering the rod average was just 1 fish per rod in the previous month the team fished well to catch 12.

 

This event was organised by Trevor Bourne.

 

Big Fish Trophy

 

A reminder to anyone who catches a large fish during any of the competitions to let me have the details as there is a trophy for the largest fish caught in any of our competitions held over the year.
